Luxury home sales across the U.S. are showing remarkable diversity, with recent public transactions in major metros ranging from $3.7M all the way up to $130M. For perspective, the highest recorded sale hit an impressive $130M, followed by significant closings at $47M, $40.2M, $40M, $21.2M, $19M, $18M, and $17.5M. What stands out to me is that in four markets, even the fifth-largest sale was above $10M—a clear sign of the depth and resilience at the top end of the luxury segment. One metro, in particular, saw its five top sales tightly clustered between $24M and $40M, suggesting a strong, consistent appetite for high-caliber properties. These figures come from listings data and may not reflect private or off-market transactions—especially relevant in nondisclosure markets, where listing prices are the best available indicator. As someone who helps clients navigate both new-build opportunities and established luxury homes, I always keep a close eye on these trends to ensure my buyers and investors have up-to-date insights. The landscape is always evolving, and understanding market depth at every level is key to making informed decisions.
